Italian Sausage Pizza

Friday night rolled around and all in our household rejoiced: It was pizza night yet again. This time, we bought some Italian sausages as the main ingredient for our delicious pizza.

We've found that making pizza from scratch is really great for Fridays because we can get the dough made right after coming home from work and then let it sit out to rise if we need to run a quick errand or two (I went to the library this past Friday).

Melissa also gently tweaked the recipe for the dough by adding a bit of honey, and it proved to be quite a nice touch.

We added our ingredients: Italian sausage chunks pulled out of the casing, red onion, green pepper, mozzarella, cheddar, garlic powder and pasta sprinkles.

The completed pie was too good to forgo:

The touch of sweetness from the honey melded well with the thick, succulent Italian sausages. The red onions and green peppers were the perfect produce accompaniments.

Looks fantastic! Nothing better than a nice, slightly sweet, crust! And I totally agree about Fridays being the perfect pizza night.
