A Spring(ish) Pupdate

If you don't know by now, we've increased the size of our family in the last year. We bought two wonderful -- and sometimes obnoxious -- Westie puppies.

Ollie (left) and Dezzy are tired after wrestling each other.
It's been a lot of fun as Ollie has grown older and started to learn more and behave better. We've almost -- almost -- got him bell-trained (to ring the bell when he needs to go to the bathroom outside).

Ollie looks so tired after a play session.

Since they're still puppies, we've been preoccupied with them and not as much with making and trying new recipes. But that might be changing.

These past couple of weekends, we've gotten into the habit of buying food and products from local farmers markets and then planning our meals for the week around those purchases. It feels very good to buy from Wisconsin food producers.

The upside to that is that we've been a bit re-inspired in the kitchen, even if that comes in short bursts. It seems like we've been subsisting on our staple meals for the past month or so.

And we bought a lovely bouquet of tulips from the Waukesha Farmers Market this past Saturday.

What have you been up to lately?
