Homemade Baked Corn Dogs

In our last post, we wrote about how we enjoy re-creating dishes at home based off of meals we've eaten at restaurants or other food joints. That continued recently when Melissa was craving a corn dog, which she's had from many places, but most recently from Sonic.

A search for recipes yielded one from Martha Stewart. All you need to do is preheat the oven and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Then mix together the cornmeal, flour and more. Then add the other ingredients and cover the hot dogs with the cornmeal mixture. (Of course, I should mention that we used Milwaukee's own Klement's all-beef hot dogs.)

We found that Martha's recipe was a bit too bland for our taste. So next time, we'll venture into a more spicy neighborhood.

But the recipe is not too difficult, so it makes for a great and quick weeknight meal. We served ours with zucchini, and we'll tell you how we prepared them in our next post.
