Spicy Honey-Kissed Chicken

For Melissa's wedding shower, my mom gave us a few things, including the White Bread we wrote about before.

Another thing she gave us was a hand-made cookbook filled with quick and easy recipes she culled from a variety of sources. We decided to try one that was super simple, Spicy Honey-Kissed Chicken. We also liked that since it was simply ingredients to flavor the chicken, we had most of the ingredients, which made the shopping trip pretty cheap.

To start, we cut the chicken into strips and then tossed them in a bowl filled with cumin, ground ginger, black pepper and salt.

While the chicken was cooking in some vegetable oil, in another bowl, we combined lemon juice, honey and light soy sauce.

Stir the mixture into the chicken and cook until chicken is cooked through.

We thought the recipe was mainly good but we expected different flavors. We didn't really taste the honey, which I expected to since it is listed in the recipe title. Instead it was just a general tinge of sweetness. The spicy was there, though, but I thought it could have been a bit more bold, too.
