A Food Fight for a Cause: FoodFightMKE

When I was growing up, I would have been reprimanded for causing a food fight. Unless it was for a good cause.

This is for one of those good causes. FoodFightMKE, its website says, is a movement initiated by young adults dedicated to educating, engaging, energizing and inspiring local residents to beat hunger in Milwaukee. Proceeds raised will be donated to the Hunger Task Force.

If you want to help, you can do a few things. Donate money or food to those in need; spread the word about the FoodFightMKE movement; or lend a hand by volunteering at the Hunger Task Force.

Also, on Thursday, the group is holding an event from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Riverwest Public House. Enjoy free soup and bread donated by local restaurants and foodies.

You can find out more about FoodFightMKE on its blog.

Cookies for Kids' Cancer Bake Sale
This past weekend we brought some cookies to a fundraiser for Cookies for Kids Cancer. We're happy to report that the event raised more than $1,200.
