Toasted Pecan Waffles with Cinnamon-Butter Glaze

West Bend Appliance Co. celebrated 100 years of business this past weekend. As part of their 100th anniversary, the company gave away several appliances through contests hosted by other Wisconsin food bloggers.

Thankfully, Melissa was lucky enough to win a waffle maker from #MKEfoodies.

The day we received the waffle maker, Melissa was struck with dinner inspiration. She made waffles based on a recipe from Cook's Country and added some toasted chopped pecans to the batter. On top, we drizzled some cinnamon-butter glaze and some more toasted chopped pecans.

The sweet, rich cinnamon glaze was a great contrast to the smokiness and crunchiness of the pecans. And the waffle maker performed well, producing fluffy waffles.

Cinnamon-Butter Glaze
1/4 cup or 1/2 stick of softened unsalted butter
2 to 3 cups of powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt

1. Whisk ingredients together in a bowl. We added salt at the end because we used unsalted butter. Add powdered sugar and cinnamon to taste.
